XAMPP

With XAMPP can under Mac OSX ( and other systems ) an Apache server environment ProFTPd and MySQL be installed and used ( PHP , Perl , etc. preinstalled) . XAMPP in this context means :

• X = Cross plattform (betriebssystemunabhängig)


• A = Apache (Webserver)


• M = MySQL (Datenbankserver)


• P = PHP (Skriptsprache)


• P = Perl (Skriptsprache)

The control takes place via a special program and the terminal . XAMPP is intended more for development , but you can also use the software for a "normal" web server.
