Our application has a feature to allow GPS even when the app is running in the background. These precise location updates let the app send off automatic notifications when geofences are breached without your interaction.

Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life. Therefore, we give the option (through the Actions menu) to use a less battery-intensive method for retrieving less precise location.
